Indigenous protesters and anti-government demonstrators, some armed with spears, clashed with Ecuadorean anti-riot police on Friday in Quito as anti-austerity protests continue to rock President Lenin Moreno's government.
Police fired tear gas as well as rocks against the protesters who kicked off a pitched battle in the capital city.
The unrest is the latest flashpoint in Latin America over unpopular structural economic reforms.
