This year has been a year of protests around the world. From France with the most recent demonstrations against Macron's pension reform and the leaderless Yellow Vests protests, to Chile and Hong Kong with a mix of social and political grievrances. It proved contagious as in the Arab world leaderless movements brought down not one but two longtime strongmen in Algeria and Sudan. In Lebanon, ordinary citizens reject systems built on sectarian power sharing. They are also fed up with mismanagement and corruption.
