A hundred babies have died at a single hospital in Rajasthan in a month, raising questions whether the alarming deaths were caused by the negligence of the hospital staff. At least nine infants died in the last two days of December at the government-run JK Lon hospital in the city of Kota, 251 km from Jaipur. The death of the babies has also triggered criticism the opposition and a visit by a team from the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR). Broken windows and gates, pigs roaming inside hospital campus and acute shortage of staff were among the findings of the top child rights body during the inspection of the hospital.
