Commercial launch service provider Arianespace successfully launched an Indian communication satellite using an Ariane 5 ECA rocket from Guiana Space Centre in Kourou on Thursday.
The Ariane 5 rocket has a launch capacity of 21,000 kg (46,000 lb) and each launch reportedly costs between $165-220 million (€147- €196 million).
The rocket carried the GSAT-30 communications satellite which will provide broadcasting, telecommunications and high-quality television services for the Indian Space Research Organisation.
