Fresh protests took place on Thursday in parts of France, including Paris and Nantes, as people participated in strike action against President Emmanuel Macron's proposals for a pension overhaul.
The demonstrations have lasted 43 days at the call of trade unions and saw train and metro workers, teachers, students and others take to the streets to demand the government scrap the proposals.
