Những người tấn công lực lượng chức năng trong vụ gây rối tại xã Đồng Tâm tập trung vào 1 nhóm đối tượng, lấy lý do khiếu nại về nguồn gốc đất ở sân bay Miếu Môn. Tuy nhiên không ai trong nhóm này có đất ở, đất canh tác trong diện tích đất mà xã Đồng Tâm đã bàn giao cho bộ quốc phòng.
