“Paranoid” and “obsessive” media organisations and "green left activists" have shown “shameless opportunism” to vent against News Corp media, according to Sky News host Chris Kenny.
Mr Kenny was critical recent reports by media outlets such as Al Jazeera, the Washington Post The New York Post, the ABC, the BBC and other “green-left critics” who have attempted to “shut down the debate” on a myriad of issues, such as climate change, global warming and Australia’s summer of bushfires.
Mr Kenny said the injection of “facts and perspective into [a] conversation … [along with] open disagreement and healthy debate” by News Corp “people” is “not good enough” for critics from the left.
“The green left want to silence dissent, debate, complexities and nuance, it is the opposite of journalistic inquiry,” Mr Kenny said.
“The problem clearly is not a monoculture in News Corp where reporting ... opinion and debate is lively and multi-faceted.
“The problem is in the green left media, where there is only emotive alarmism, a complete lack of perspective and balance and no focus on debating practical policy responses”.
