Unrest and vandalism are escalating in Hong Kong during the six months of protests, with many seriously injured. Chinese state media also issued an unprecedented warning: "You are on the verge of extinction."
Hong Kong police used 1,557 tear gas to scare protesters from universities. Meanwhile, protesters constantly entrenched, receiving supplies, protective equipment, food and drinking water from outside people.
In the face of the riot, all schools in Hong Kong will stop all teaching activities until the weekend. This is something that has never happened in 6 months of the protests.
Hong Kong Hospital recorded 67 people hospitalized with protest-related injuries. A 15-year-old teenager was hit by a pepper spray and was in critical condition. Earlier this week, a protester was shot in a clash with police and a man burned alive.
Chinese state-run television (CCTV) quoted the editorial, emphasizing the actions of the protesters as "unspeakable terrorism".
“Enough talk, persuade, enough warnings. Must be more resolute in preventing instability. The country never accepts the current situation of losing control, ”the editorial wrote, according to CCTV.
The Global Times, a secondary publication of the People's Daily, the mouthpiece of the Chinese Communist Party, said that the Chinese military and police are ready to support the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region "when needed. set ”.
“We also have a warning for protesters: You are on the verge of extinction. Those who feel compelled to leave while still having the opportunity, ”wrote the Global Times.
Analysts say the Beijing government is still considering options.
“Not putting the red limit is a smart step because if the line is crossed, you will have to act. With the current situation, setting a red limit only makes the protesters excited, ”expert Adam Ni at Macquarie University, Sydney, Australia, told CNN.
The Chinese government is taking new approaches, both in the short and long term, but in general is strengthening the legal system in Hong Kong and Macau.
